A Farncombe team led by Dr Alberto Caminero (Assistant professor), and graduate students participated as judges for the Bay area Science and Engineering Fair (BASEF). Verdu Lab members and PhD candidates Amber and Mark reviewed projects as “special awards judges” and Mark also acted as a “merit judge” for additional projects.
“It was an exciting day! It made me feel optimistic to see the future is in the hands of bright young minds” –Amber.
“Getting opportunities to do science outreach and work with the community is part of the reason I’m pursuing a PhD” – Mark.
They both said it was a very rewarding experience to see what ideas the next generation of researchers are incubating!
